FAQs
Are you a CPA?
No, I’m a bookkeeper, not a Certified Public Accountant. I keep your financial records accurate, organized, and ready to hand off. But I don’t prepare or file income tax returns, give tax advice, or represent you before the IRS or state tax agencies. For those, you’ll need a CPA, Enrolled Agent, or tax attorney. I’m happy to work alongside whoever handles your taxes.
Do you file sales tax returns? Is that the same as filing my income taxes?
I do prepare and file sales tax returns. That’s a state-level filing based on tax you’ve already collected from customers, and it doesn’t require a CPA. It’s separate from income tax preparation, which I don’t do.
What software do you use?
QuickBooks Online.
What’s the difference between Monthly Bookkeeping, Cleanup & Catchup, and Training & Consulting?
Monthly Bookkeeping is ongoing. I keep your books current every month. Cleanup & Catchup is a one-time project to fix or catch up books that are behind or inaccurate. Training & Consulting is for when you want to manage your own books but need guidance, a second opinion, or help troubleshooting. Not sure which fits? That’s what the free Discovery Call is for.
What’s the difference between the free Discovery Call and the Cleanup & Catchup Consultation + Review?
The Discovery Call is a free conversation to help figure out which service is right for you. It doesn’t involve looking at your actual books. The Cleanup & Catchup Consultation + Review is a separate, paid ($50) session specifically for anyone moving forward with Cleanup & Catchup. That’s when I collect account access and documents to assess your books. If you’ve already had a free Discovery Call and decided Cleanup & Catchup is right for you, this paid session is your next step. If you already know that’s what you need, you can book it directly without a Discovery Call first.
What happens during the Cleanup & Catchup Consultation + Review?
We’ll talk through your business and I’ll collect the account access and documents I need to assess your books. I don’t provide pricing on the spot. I take time afterward to review everything carefully and follow up with a firm quote within 2–3 business days that you can accept or decline.
How much does the initial consultation cost?
The Discovery Call is free. The Cleanup & Catchup Consultation + Review is $50, charged at the time of booking.
How do payments work?
It depends on what you’re paying for. The Cleanup & Catchup Consultation + Review and other paid sessions booked through the scheduling calendar (like Training & Consulting) are billed through Stripe at the time of booking. Ongoing services — Monthly Bookkeeping and any add-ons — are billed through QuickBooks, where you’ll set up automatic monthly payments once through a secure portal (which I will walk you through during onboarding). After that, you’re charged on schedule each month with no action needed on your end.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, are non-refundable.
Is my financial information secure?
Yes, I use QuickBooks Online’s secure, bank-level encrypted connections to access your accounts, and I never store your banking credentials directly.
Do I need to have QuickBooks already set up?
No, if you’re not already using QuickBooks Online, I can help get it set up as part of onboarding.
How quickly will you respond if I have a question?
Within 1 business day.
What if my business has a busier month than usual and goes over my plan limits?
Monthly Bookkeeping tiers are based on typical transaction volume, not a strict cap. An occasional busier month won’t trigger any extra charges. If your volume consistently runs higher than your tier over time, I’ll reach out and we’ll discuss moving to the next tier at your next billing cycle.
