Cleanup & Catchup
Behind on your books, or inherited a mess from a previous bookkeeper? Cleanup & Catchup gets your financial records accurate, organized, and fully caught up to date so you can move forward with confidence, whether that’s starting Monthly Bookkeeping, handing clean books to your tax preparer, or just finally knowing where you stand.
Getting Started
Cleanup & Catchup always begins with a required $50 Consultation & Review. In this session, we’ll discuss your situation and I’ll collect what I need to assess your books: account access, financial documents, and any relevant history. I’ll then take time to review everything carefully and follow up with a firm quote within 2-3 business days. There will be no obligation to move forward after. If you’ve already had a free Discovery Call, this paid review is your next step. If you already know Cleanup & Catchup is what you need, you can book the $50 review directly, no Discovery Call required first.
What’s Included
- Assessment of your current books — A thorough review to understand how far behind things are and what needs to be fixed
- Transaction categorization and entry — Every missing or miscategorized transaction gets recorded correctly, month by month
- Bank and credit card reconciliation — Your accounts are matched against your actual statements for every period you’re behind
- Error correction — Duplicate entries, miscategorizations, and mistakes from previous bookkeeping (yours or someone else’s) get cleaned up
- Catch-up financial reports — Once your books are current, you’ll receive the profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports you should have had all along
- A clear plan going forward — We’ll talk through how to keep your books from falling behind again, whether that’s Monthly Bookkeeping or another arrangement that fits you
What’s Not Included
- IRS or state audit representation — If your cleanup is connected to a notice or audit, communicating with or representing you to the IRS or state tax agency requires a CPA, EA, or attorney
- Amended tax return filing — If cleanup uncovers errors that affect a return you already filed, correcting that return is a tax preparer’s job, not part of the cleanup itself
- Tax preparation and filing — I’ll get your books tax-ready, but filing your actual return requires a CPA or tax preparer
- Ongoing monthly bookkeeping — Once you’re caught up, staying current is handled separately under Monthly Bookkeeping
- Payroll processing, accounts payable, or accounts receivable — Available as add-ons if your catch-up work involves these areas
- Sales tax filing — Available separately if you have back sales tax returns that also need to be filed
- Ongoing training or consulting — Available separately if you want hands-on guidance managing things yourself going forward
