I’ve loved numbers for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, there was something deeply satisfying about things adding up the way they were supposed to. What I also love now is the flip side of that: untangling a mess. Hand me a set of books that’s fallen apart, and I’m genuinely in my element. There’s a particular kind of relief in taking something chaotic and turning it into something clear, and looking back, that’s the thread running through my whole career.

I got my start as a bookkeeper at a tax office, training directly under experienced accountants and learning what accurate, compliant financial record-keeping actually looks like from the ground up. From there, I spent several years as an office manager and bookkeeper for two oil companies and a small craft business. Different industries, different challenges, but the same core skill every time.

Years later, that tax office called me back. This time, it was specifically to clean up a mess. They’d had to let go of a few employees who weren’t doing the job right, and they needed someone who could go back through the damage and set it straight. So for nearly a year, that’s exactly what I did: working through client after client’s accounts, finding what had gone wrong, and fixing it. By the time that work was done, the office was back on solid footing with a new team in place. And somewhere in that year, I realized I was ready to do this on my own.

Small businesses are who I’ve always worked for, and they’re who I genuinely love working with. Over the years, I’ve supported businesses through just about everything: ownership splitting during a divorce (which happens way more often than you’d think), multi-state operations, one-person shops, teams that turned over faster than they could be trained. There’s no such thing as “too messy” or “too far behind” to me. I’ve seen it, and I know how to help.

Outside of work, I’m a proud dog mom to four (I’m 150% a dog person, don’t even get me started). I’m an avid fiction reader, I love a good plate of Asian food, and, fittingly for the name of this business, I’ve personally weathered more tornadoes than I’d like to count. Some things you just can’t plan your way around. Your books don’t have to be one of them.

If you work with me, here’s what you can expect: patience, warmth, and a genuine sense of humor, even when your books are the mess we’re sorting out together. I don’t rattle easily, and I don’t judge. My job is to help, not to make you feel bad about how things got here. I also love teaching, so if you ever want to understand your own numbers better, I’m always happy to walk you through it.

These days, I’m working toward degrees in business management and financial engineering on the side. Part of why I made the leap to working for myself was wanting the flexibility to keep growing while still doing the work I love. I’m excited for this next chapter, and I’d love for your business to be part of it.
